St. Peter's Church, Dorchester, MA
Designed by noted architect Patrick Keely, with major renovations by the Boston architectural firm of Maginnis and Walsh, St. Peter’s Church is considered by some to be one of the most beautiful and important post colonial churches in Boston. It has been a pivotal fixture on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester for many generations of Boston’s Catholic immigrant groups. Historic Boston granted the church funding for a comprehensive assessment, completed in 2008, and a $25,000 matching grant toward stained glass window repairs.
