What We Do

Historic Boston Incorporated is dedicated to preserving the places that represent the rich cultures and character of successive generations of Bostonians by investing in their rehabilitation and re-use.

Redevelopment of Historic Properties: acquiring historic properties, rehabilitating them and finding purchasers willing to provide on-going stewardship.

Preservation Easements: entering into agreements that protect historic buildings while providing tax advantages to their donors.

Historic Neighborhood Centers: providing intensive technical assistance and services for property rehabilitation and development in Boson’s neighborhood commercial districts.

Neighborhood Field Services: working with local preservation partners and community based partners to provide preservation planning and technical assistance in Boston’s neighborhood commercial districts.

Handmade Houses Partnership: Working with the North Bennet Street School to identify and purchase threatened early frame homes and use traditional methods to restore them for resale.
