| (click images larger views) | In 2005 and 2006, using funds awarded from the Northeast Office of the National Trust of Historic Preservation and the Boston Redevelopment Authority, along with HBI's own monies, HBI commissioned a structural engineering study of the building and carried out the emergency stabilization of its grand portico, which had lost two of its original six monumental ionic columns and seem destined for collapse. HBI continues to work with the Kittredge House's non-profit owner to facilitate redevelopment of the property in a viable, historically appropriate way. | |||||||
