APPENDIX C: Properties Suggested but not Included in
Casebook
In nearly every case, properties proposed for study during the development of this Casebook reflected valid neighborhood concerns. However, the practical limitations of time and money required targeting which sites should receive further study.
The following criteria influenced our decisions:
-- the property is not endangered,
-- its historic significance is lower
than many others,
-- rehabilitation is in process or
imminent,
-- re-use for some income producing or
socially desirable purpose is unlikely or impossible,
-- it lacks a pivotal location or broad
community interest,
-- an irrevocable commitment to its
demolition appears in place,
-- it ceased to exist by the time the
Casebook went to press.
In years to come, with the benefit of hindsight, one will be
better able to evaluate our collective judgment.
